On Tuesday, Monster Cable held a mini-conference to discuss the future of connectivity, including its bread and butter, HDMI cables.
Monster representatives told me Friday that the company has also announced the next step in its collaboration with Hewlett-Packard, although the details have yet to hit the Monster Cable Web site.
The original partnership was launched at this year's Consumer Electronics Show; now, it has come to fruition.
The HP Monster partnership includes a number of cables, as well as a few of its GreenPower power-extension solutions. The full list is after the jump.
I should point out that Monster products usually polarize techies; some consider them to be overpriced, but others (and Monster itself) claim that these products have been engineered to prevent data loss.
"HP and Monster are creating high-quality products that provide many real-life benefits for consumers," said Jason Zajac, vice president and general manager at the Worldwide Attach Group of HP, in a statement. "By combining the technological and developmental expertise of both our companies, the new HP Monster line helps people maximize the capabilities and features of their advanced digital lifestyle products, and open up exciting new possibilities, both now and in the future."
Here they are:
• HP Monster USB Cables for USB based computer and entertainment devices (6- and 12-ft. lengths: $19.95, $24.95, respectively). • HP Monster USB CABLE 700 High Speed for even the highest performance USB based computer and entertainment devices (7- and 12- ft. lengths: $24.95, $29.95, respectively). • HP Monster Mini USB CABLE 700: the same as the USB Cable, except for portable devices (1/2- and 3-ft. lengths, SRP: $19.95, $24.95, respectively) • HP Monster Extend USB Cable 700: (7-ft. length: $29.95) • HP Monster Ethernet Cable 700: Rated at up to 1 Gbit/s. Monster also co-branded its GreenPower PowerCenter line ( with prices ranging from $34.95 to $119.95), and offers a 7-outlet surge protector for $24.95. There's also a 3-outlet HP Monster "Outlets To Go" portable power solution ($24.95) and a specially designed HP Monster ScreenClean kit, for $16.95.
