For fans of high design who don't want to put their laptops on any old piece of plastic, there's the Intelligent Forms Log Pillow. Perfect for Web loafing in bed or on the couch, the Log Pillow consists of six fabric tubes criss-crossed log-cabin style and attached with snaps. The "logs" are made from a mix of hemp canvas, cotton, and Lycra and filled with buckwheat hulls. The design is meant to cause better ventilation and keep heat from building up at the bottom of your laptop. The log pillow also fold flat for transporting.

Intelligent Forms also has laptop pillows with buttons and a "Terrapin" design. Though you might get some strange looks at the airport, these laptop pillows are well-suited to "working" from home with a big hot cocoa at your side. All three pillows are available for $69 each at the iF Web site.

That's...actually kind of cool. I mean, as long as you keep it assembled; I'd hate to be in the position where I need it but I have to snap it in place. :D

But it seems pretty cool for those times when you're sitting somewhere without a surface and want to put your laptop on your lap!

Well I can tell you right now that, that Macbook is going to overheat like mad since the fans are along the rear right where that top log is.
And Dells are usually on the right or left where those other two logs are. In fact I'm pretty sure this would cover up most laptops fans.

It is great to get feedback like this. A quick note to SiliconAddict... because the logs on our laptop pillow are adjustable (they pivot on themselves) and laptops come in many different sizes you have the option of placing the back of the laptop on top of the back log. This allows Macbook fans to do their job. The front log that the front of the laptop nestles into still does the job of keeping the computer from slipping in a huge variety of seating postitions. We've done a lot of trials on this one - it works!
