Joby, maker of the innovative Gorillapod, a bendy camera tripod, just announced another cool and bendy accessory: the Gorillatorch. Designed to let you light up any of the dark corners of your life, the device's legs easily wrap around whatever's handy; and the feet are magnetic, giving it more sticking power.
The water-resistant Gorillatorch features a dimming switch, so you can control how much or little light it emits--up to 65 lumens of white LED light. It runs on 3 AAA batteries, which will last anywhere from 20 to 80 hours, depending on which power settings you select.
Get yours for $29.95 direct; it ships in September, but you can pre-order at Joby's site.

I was pretty disappointed with this light. It's not very bright...I doubt it's 65 Lumens as advertised. It would be better if it were rechargeable. I like the stand, but the light is not very good.

Can you tell me if the magnets in the legs are strong enough to interfer with a defibulator. I had heart bypass and someone told me that it could cause a problem. My Dr. told me to stay away from magnetic forces. What do you think, could this be a problem?
