The only thing more satisfying than being first in line to buy the latest and greatest shiny new gadget is being the first person to tear the thing apart. The folks at iFixit stood patiently in line at their local Sprint store, in order be the very first to open up the Palm Pre.
The result are posted at the iFixit site, included surprisingly, a line or two about the phone's actual usability. For example, "WebOS is so cool! We love how natural it feels to swipe between applications and multitask with Web, Twitter, AIM, and Pandora." And then the mutilation begins.
Not for the faint of heart, iFixit's teardown is more a "how does this thing work" kind of deal, rather than iSuppli's obligatory (and surely forthcoming) "how much does this thing cost."
