A group of hackers are claiming responsibility for a security breach of wireless carrier T-Mobile. The group claims to have stolen operating data, financial information, and customer data--information it's looking to sell to interested parties.
T-Mobile, for its part, has yet to confirm the attack. The company stated:
The protection of our customers' information, and the safety and security of our systems, is absolutely paramount at T-Mobile. Regarding the recent claim, we are fully investigating the matter. As is our standard practice, if there is any evidence that customer information has been compromised, we would inform those affected as soon as possible.
The carrier does claim, however, to be looking into the reports.
