On Thursday, I had a chance to chat with the WCG Ultimate Gamers. Location: my personal computer. Samsung Newsroom held an open chat for fans to question their favorite players on the show and their gaming. Gamers in attendance included Mark, aka applesauce; Rob, A.K.A. Prod1gy X; Adande, A.K.A. sWooZie; Chelsea, A.K.A. Delicate; Jamal, A.K.A. Zophar321; Amy, A.K.A. Athena; and co-host Joel, A.K.A. shoryukenjoel.

I managed to squeeze in two questions between the fandom and the chatroom antic; more after the jump.

Me: How did the show vary in competition compared to previous tournaments you have been involved in?

Zophar321: The show was mainly an endurance challenge, very little sleep, not much practice time, plus a game within a game.

sWooZie: Well with this one, like most reality shows, they keep the contestants in the dark. So for one-- you have no idea what game you will be playing from week to week, so it's normally just raw talent from episode to episode where as with other tournaments you're more "active" as opposed to "reactive" if you get me.

mMmApplesauce: First off you didn't have to live with the people you played against. Because even if you beat a friend at a tournament, you see them later, back off for a little bit and see each other online. You beat them in the house or put them up for elimination and they come back it's like, "Uhh what the heck! You're next!"

Me: What do you think this show will do for the gaming community?

Zophar321: This show will bring more gamers to the world of competitive gaming.

sWooZie: The show has definitely made a lot of people aware of gaming. Almost like Skynet in Terminator becoming self aware kind of deal.

WCG Prod1gyX: It will bring more Casual and non-gamers to see the competitive side in gaming for sure.
