When Sony announced the latest version of its PlayStation Portable during its E3 press conference yesterday, the company laughingly referred to it as "the worst kept secret at E3 2009," which was basically true. Rumors about and pictures of the device have been floating around the blogosphere for months--and now that the PSP Go has been confirmed, it turns out that most of them were spot on.

The PSP Go has 16GB of internal Flash memory, built-in Wi-Fi, and integrated Bluetooth. It'll be arriving in stores in October, for $249. I managed to finagle my way into the roped-off portion of Sony's booth on the second day of E3 ito get some solo hands-on time with the device.

After the jump, check out exclusive video and more photos of the PSP Go.

I like it. My only question is do the games and possibly movie come on the memory card or only by download or both?
I use my current PSP mainly to watch videos and listen to music but I do have a small collection of UMD movies. I also wonder if Sony will provide software to transfer video or DVD's to the PSP Go?

The idiot at the booth doesn't even know a microSD from an M2. AMAZING.

The "booth babe" isn't very up to speed on the product. It is not a microSD slot - it's an M2.

the reason original PSP is fail is the lack of a second analog stick and the UMD was garbage. glad to see one is gone.

Doug i think the idea is if you connect to DL the previous titles, you won't have to deal with the load times of the UMD, which also killed battery life if memory serves.

I will not be happy if I have to buy all my games again. Any idea of the dimensions and battery life?
