I just want to promise the readers that I would never make a joke about one of Sarah Palin's daughters. Unless I thought of a really good one.

1. Here's a way to get even more out of an already good deal. Dell is selling the Olympus SP-565 UZ for $90 off, bringing the total to $229.99. That's a good price, since the 10 megapixel camera offers a 20x wide-angle zoom, anti-blur technology, and face tracking that works with up to 16 faces. But wait, if you enter the code FMSZTHZ7$1QFBT at checkout, you'll get $30 more off, dropping the price to $199.99. That promotional code expires on June 17, so get moving.

2. Bargain laptops typically offer smaller screens, but here's a good deal on a 15.6-inch notebook. Office Max is selling the Acer Aspire AS5735-6694 (catchy name, Acer) for $479.99, a $200 savings off the list price. It comes with a 2.0GHz Intel Core2 Duo processor, Windows Vista Home Premium, 4GB DDR2 RAM, and a 250GB hard drive.

3. There are great deals to be found with refurbished computers. Consider the HP Pavilion a6707c desktop. Buy.com has it for $394.99, with free shipping. It's tricked out with a 2.4GHz Pentium E2220 processor, 4GB RAM, a 500GB hard drive, and Windows Vista Home Premium. You'll even get a keyboard and mouse.

What in the world does Sarah Palin or her daughters have to do with a tech review?!?!?

Your comments were gratuitous and completely inappropriate!

Is there nowhere I can feel safe from snarky offensive political comments?

good grief

Calm down, Larry. The Cheep Geek was only making a topical reference to a recent show on which David Letterman made some jokes about 18-year old Bristol Palin and her obvious sexual proclivity. Sarah and Todd over reacted and took this to be some cheep attempts at humor by advocating the rape of a 14-year old girl. That's right, she said 14-year old. Gov. Palin evidently took that famous Alaskan "Bridge to Nowhere" to reach her conclusion. In the meantime, I'd like to know how Acer can sell the full feature Acer Aspire AS5735-6694 for only $100 or so more than their limited netbooks.

Your review of products was completely overshadowed by the remark about Sarah Palin's daughters. What a jerk you are! If you and David Letterman think that jokes about Palin's daughters somehow would make you more likeable, think again. Your editors should take another look at your worth and ability.

Is there any American company out there that insist on professionals representing their companies? Letterman was way out-of-line and so are you! Perhaps the colleges need to teach the difference between class and trash!

Hey, did you hear the one about Obama's daughter Malia? How she is so embarrassed because her mother looks like James Brown?

Oh, man, you should hear it. It's sooo funny.

Someone's sarcasm detector is busted. Apparently it's right behind that malfunctioning humor detector. :)

Hey Mel,

So, you think I'm some sort of throwback, knuckle dragging, hump back, mouth breathing idiot?

Are you just dense? You think I need the reference explained to me?

There was no sarcasm involved and no satire. Just an extremely poor attempt to be cute riding on the back of another loser, letterman, not even original.

I didn't come to this site for cuteness, humor, sarcasm, or satire. Well, which is good I guess, because there sure isn't any.

And please, don't worry, I won't be back, there are way too many other tech sites to go to to spend another minute on this one.

I've deleted the rss feed from my home page as well.

Enjoy your "humor".

Good buy on the camera, but really bad comments. Do not intend to buy anything from someone like you.

Internet troll complains when faced with the truth, swear to really really stop reading blog this time, they really mean it. Also plan to "never go back to that store that wouldn't give sale price." Film at 11!
