Send Word Now, the top provider in emergency notification services, announced May 18th its intention to help out in New York City's "Notify NYC." This program is a warning system that notifies citizens during a city-wide emergency by sending out text and voice messages to their phones.
CEO Tony Schmitz of Send Word Now had the events of 9/11 and the East Coast blackout in mind while developing this emergency system for a crisis. Send Word Now and Notify NYC, a government program assigned to emergency alert systems, are working together to eliminate misinformation that may cause unnecessary public panic during a disaster.
These two organizations are working together on both a public level for NYC, but also on a private level for corporations and schools to help in smaller conflicts.
