If your idea of an inexpensive date involves downloaded movies and Funyuns, you might be a cheap geek.
1. Yesterday I led off with a deal for a plum-colored camera; today I'm leading with a pink Zune. Why? Because I like pretty colors. Buy.com is selling a 4GB Zune in pink for only $74.99 with free shipping, and it's throwing in a free Microsoft Zune Car Pack. Nice. Now if they threw in a free iPod, maybe somebody would want one of these things. I like how the top of the page says "Great Mother's Day Gift Idea." Maybe it's a great idea and maybe it's not, but you're definitely a bad son or daughter if you're shopping for a gift two days after Mother's Day.
2. Yes, you can afford 802.11n speeds. Newegg.com is selling "recertified" Netgear WNR834B-100NAR 802.11b/g/n routers for $26.99, and you get free shipping, too. Don't let your Internet bottleneck be your own router: Go wireless-N!
3. Sometimes I even surprise myself with the deals I find. Case in point: Tiger Direct is selling an HP Compaq 6735s notebook for $329.99, after instant savings and rebate. Let me hear you say "sweet!" It's loaded with Windows Vista Home Basic, an AMD Sempron SI-40 2-GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and a 15.4-inch screen.
