The 3.7-ounce LG Lotus is a cool if curious device. It's a cell phone meant for messaging addicts who want a QWERTY keyboard yet also want a flip phone--a very rare bird these days. Consequently, it looks like a compact makeup case. It's also a little shaky on reception, but as I found in my review, it's quite good otherwise, and makes sending text and instant messages a snap.
Sprint has decided that the world needs more of these things, so they cut the price to just $49.99 after a two-year contract and rebate, according to Engadget Mobile. Plus, they added this bright red color, complete with red-accented numeric keys embedded in the QWERTY keypad. At this price, it's a worthy competitor to the Samsung Rant and superior to the LG Rumor 2.
