A day after iBuddie showed off a demo netbook based on Google's free mobile Android OS, Chinese company Skytone has announced plans of its own for a low-priced PC running the software. Skytone, known primarily as a manufacturer of Skype headsets, is looking to release the Alpha-680 Google Android Netbook, a netbook that closely resembles the design of OLPC's XO laptop.
The device has a swiveling touchscreen, Wi-Fi, SD card slot, and an Ethernet port in what will no doubt be a fairly low-priced package--likely around the $100 price point. The specs, naturally, are on the low-end, but that's perhaps to be expected for a design running OS designed primarily for handsets.
