This question came from reader Parm:
I was reading your article below over at PC Mag and linked over to your Smart Device Central website. Wow, great site! And lots of valuable reviews and articles. I have bookmarked it as a daily favorite! Thanks and keep up the great work!

Also, in your article mentioned above, you mentioned that Slingbox owners can log onto the iPhone version using their online accounts. However, I couldn't find a link there. Could you please direct me in the right direction? Is there somewhere else I can test the iPhone app?
My reply after the jump.
Hi Parm,
Thanks for the kind words! We're actually waiting to
hear from Sling Media. The iPhone app isn't out yet; in fact, it's in
this weird sort of approval/non-approval process. I blogged about it
the other day on PC Mag's AppScout blog:
http://www.appscout.com/2009/04/rumor_apple_to_reject_slingpla.php
There is also word that you need to own a Slingbox Pro HD or SOLO in
order to use the iPhone app, and that older Slingbox owners will need
to upgrade, which I think is frankly ridiculous. I'm hoping that it
doesn't turn out to be true. (SlingPlayer for BlackBerry and for
Windows Mobile both work with any Slingbox.)
Either way, I expect we'll hear something sooner rather than later
about the iPhone app. Here's hoping it comes out soon. I know a number
of people--even close friends--that are dying to find out about it. Thanks again for writing!
