For the next week or so, Austin will be the iPhone capital of the world, thanks to all the tech and media types who have descended upon the Texas city for the South by Southwest (a.k.a. SXSW). The result (beyond the plethora of annoying people constantly checking their Gmail) has been less-than-ideal service for AT&T. The wireless provider is responding to this "unprecedented" demand by agreeing to improve service in the city, beginning last night and continuing through the remainder of the show.

AT&T told Business Insider:

These efforts are ongoing, but we anticipate that customers should see improved network performance this evening and for the remainder of the event. We will continue to monitor network performance throughout the event, and will do everything possible to maximize network performance throughout.
