This is the kind of infantilizing crap I railed against in my post, "5 Stupid Reasons to Delay the DTV Transition." Yeah, this is a humor video. But unfortunately it only serves to advance FUD.
The actual fact is that older people aren't idiots, converter boxes aren't that hard to hook up, and - here's the real shocker - older people are MORE PREPARED THAN THE GENERAL POPULATION for the DTV transition.
Letting stereotypes like this define the debate does nobody good, and it actually does people harm when the stereotypes go against the actual facts. Boo.
It is funny. But like someone said the elderly are more ready than the younger. Why?BECAUSE THE YOUNGER PEOPLE WERE TO DAMN LAZY TO GET OFF THEIR F$#N a$$ AND DO WHAT WAS ASKED FOR 2 YEARS NOW. FURTHER MORE THIS TRANSACTION HAS BEEN PUT OFF SINCE 2004. YOU CAN CAN THAT BS ABOUT THE NATION NOT BE READY S$%T. THIS WHOLE DELAY IS JUST ONE MORE DEMO LIB PIECE OF BULL S$#T LEGISLATION TO CATER TO THE POOR PITIFUL SIT ON THERE A$$ DO NOTHING GOV. FREELOADERS

@Sascha: May I introduce you to the delicate art of satire?
Jonathan Swift is quietly sobbing right now. I hope you're proud of yourself.

Sweet. So to get Congress to FINALLY do what the PEOPLE want, all we have to do is post a satire video on Youtube?

Yeah - I know - I'm one of the 50's gen geezers that made sure I was in compliance....B#LLSH$T!!!!! The internet is more reliable especially since the onslaught of the 'crackberry'. Who says the older gen will no be ready....if we choose to be ready then fine - but if we choose otherwise...maybe it's not all that important to watch mindless morons that slice and dice the news from every possible angle - my parents and their parents endured an era (Great Depression)that would make any of the now gen/x gen soil their spoiled little britches and especially those who sit on their butts letting D.C. make all of their decisions for them...as long as it doesn't stop the monthly checks coming in that I and the other working class idiots help pay for...sorry...just a geezer who's tired of all the political posturing - from both sides of the isle - which makes me long for term limits - those people need to get real jobs....and a life...
