Here's something we hope to see a bit more of at this year's CES: fuel cell technology. Medis Technologies showcased a battery at last night's Digital Experience that it claims is "the world's first personal, portable, fuel cell."

The new Medis 24/7 Fuel Cell Power Pack is relatively low priced, easy to use, and green. After you take it home (the battery retails for $24.99), pull off the tape and squeeze the device--the borohydride-based proprietary fuel will go to work, producing emission-free electricity.

One squeezed, the Power Pack will give you 20 watt-hours of power, which the company says can charge a phone up to six times.

Check out a video of the Medis 24/7 Fuel Cell Power Pack, after the jump.

It's good to know that we can have many gadgets as interesting and useful as this one that the CES have to show to us and soon to use. If the thought has occurred to you to get a payday loan and head on down to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show, you may want to hold your horses, partner. First off, no one believes you that the CES show is the reason why you want to go to Las Vegas. Second, the show is following the current economic trends, in that it is shrinking. The show is a bit pared down, and the salespeople on the floor are out for blood - or rather money. They're looking to get a profit going quickly. So if you're in a tight financial spot already, then it may not be the best idea to go. However, if you are one of the few that has managed to get ahead of the curve by proper financing or through a payday loan, then it could work out for you. The focus this year is on products that are engineered to be energy efficient, money saving appliances, which is a good thing in this current economic climate. But, who knows, taking out a payday loan now to buy a device that will save you money in the future might turn out to be worth it.
