Don't put too much stock in those stories about the slowdown in the Wii's success. Despite the Xbox 360's banner Black Friday sales, Nintendo's little white console is still dominating the market: It beat out the Xbox by a nearly 3-to-1 margin last month, 2.04 million versus 836,000 according to research group NPD. The high-priced Sony Playstation 3 was in third, with a mere 378,000 units sold.
Things are looking pretty bright for Nintendo in the portable space as well. The NIntendo DS outsold the Sony PSP 1.57 million to 421,000.
While it didn't manage to take first place, the Xbox 360 did manage to up its yearly sales be 22 percent year over year, due at least in part to Microsoft's recent price drop from $349 to $299 for the basic Xbox system.

If this has anything to do with those creepy, "open back-of-head" commercials they've been playing, I just want to say that anyone buying on the basis of those commercials freaks me the hell out.

Actually, I've seen many Xbox Arcade consoles selling for $199.
