If you're a big karaoke fan like me, you should check out the Memorex SingStand: It's definitely not your average karaoke machine.
The SingStand is a microphone stand that includes a hookup for your iPod or any other MP3 player with a 3.5mm line-in connection. The base has a speaker attached to it as well as all the necessary inputs. Setup is easy--but still not quick enough for me! (I'm a rip-open-the-box, plug-it-in-and-go kind of girl.)
The SingStand has two microphone inputs, so you can do a solo performance or a duet. It also comes with a guitar input just in case you really want to rock. I liked the Vocal button: It allows you to sing the lead vocals while having the actual background vocals from the song play. I sang a bunch of songs, and had a blast. The speakers sound really good and can go quite loud, which really made it feel like an actual performance.
Although I really enjoyed the SingStand, some improvements could make it even better. For example, lyrics would make the experience much smoother--perhaps a hookup for the TV to display the lyrics. Also, the hookup for the MP3 player is just that. If it were a dock as well and and could charge your player, you wouldn't have to worry about your battery dying as you sing your heart out.
The SingStand can be yours for $69.99 direct from Memorex.
