Continuing the recent theme of expensive electric cycles, the Brammo Enertia Limited Edition is a $15,000 commuter that's powered by a lithium-iron-phosphate power cell, which is designed to be both safe and efficient for use in such close proximity to the rider. "A plasma fire is not something we want to see," company founder Craig Bramscher said in an Autopia report.
The Enertia also packs in a 13-kW motor that's good for a 0-30 time of 3.8 seconds—credit the tiny electric motor's powerful torque off the starting line for that one—on the way to a stop speed of 53 mph. It will also last about 45 miles on a single charge, which takes about three hours from start to finish.
