The 2009 Dodge Ram isn't just for hauling these days; it can also act as a mobile WiFi hotspot and connect multiple computers and cell phones to the Internet, as Fast Company reports. That's in addition to the truck's satellite TV, MP3-compatible stereo system, and rear backup camera.
One of the truck's options is Chrysler's new uConnect mobile Internet service, which employs a built-in, Bluetooth-capable wireless router with a 3G cellular data connection that nets average download speeds in the 400 Kbps to 700 Kbps range. The truck can also be equipped with a USB interface capable of ripping MP3 files to the stereo system's built-in 30GB hard disk, either from an attached MP3 player, hard disk, or an inserted CD.
On the downside, the review mentioned that for $50k, the truck should include some type of alternative fuel powertrain to boost its horrendous mileage (which maxes out at 20 mpg).
