Volkswagen_CC_Eco_Performance_AutoWeek.jpg

The Volkswagen CC Eco Performance concept, which debuted at SEMA this week, puts out 311 hp and 313 lb-ft of torque courtesy of a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. But as AutoWeek reports, it's also green, sporting a driving setting that reduces power while returning 33 mpg on the highway.

This being a car for SEMA, the CC Eco Performance concept also features 20-inch wheels, blacked-out chrome, 14-inch Brembo discs, and "ghost digital accents" on the roof. In low-power mode (222 hp, 236 lb-ft of torque) the car achieves a "rating" of 27/33 mpg, while in full power mode it falls a bit to 24/32 mpg. I wonder who's doing the ratings this time; hope it's not Volkswagen's usual marketing firm, I mean "independent certifier."
