Solar Electric Hybrid Cars made by an alternate mobility provider Cruise Car could soon become the official mode of transportation at Hollywood's NBC Universal Studios and theme park.

All those who make the movie magic possible are currently relying on a fleet of 300 gas-powered transports to navigate the vast sprawl of Universal facilities. However, today the company signaled its intent to do away with the gas-burners by adopting Cruise Car's solar-powered low speed vehicles (LSV). This is likely to include haulers like the Kudo X14 -- a 14-seat solar minibus with a max speed of just under 25 mph.

"Cruise Car's Solar Electric Hybrid Vehicles can go 40 to 60 miles with a fully charged battery, and just driving around all day in the sun can boost the carts' distance by an additional seven miles each day," said Mike Margulis of Cruise Car. "Our Solar-Electric Hybrid vehicles have shattered all preconceptions regarding the vehicle's power and range capabilities, especially here at the mountainous NBC-Universal Studio Hollywood's 415 acre facility."
