One Laptop Per Child's Give One Get One program was a big hit when it was first launched in the U.S., thanks in no small part to the popularity--and exclusivity--of the company's little green XO laptop.
The program let consumers buy a laptop for themselves, and for each one bought, a second unit was sent overseas to a child in a developing country. It's the only was to get an XO, and, of course, it's a good deed, too. According to OLPC, nearly 190,000 units were sold via the program.
The organization announced today plans to extend G1G1 to Europe. Beginning November 17th, residents in 27 European countries will be able to pick up one of the notebooks for around £268.
