Mitsubishi said that it's pulling out of the Detroit auto show in January, as the company looks to save cash in a spiraling economy and an industry-wide decline in sales, AutoWeek reports. Porsche hasn't been at this particular show for years, but now Mitsubishi is the fifth automaker to pull out of the '09 show after Rolls-Royce, Land Rover, Ferrari and Suzuki.
At the last show, Mitsubishi made a splash with the odd-looking, diesel-powered Concept-RA (pictured), a sport coupe with all-wheel-drive and a strange hood scoop with the engine outline visible. Back in 2007, Mitsubishi showed off a diesel hybrid concept dump truck called the Canter Eco-D. The move to pull out of this year's show doesn't preclude Mitsubishi from returning to the event in 2010, according to the article.
