Mazda's latest electric concept racer, the KAAN, looks like something right out of Bruce Wayne's secrete underground garage -- part racecar, part airplane, part EV, part Batmobile.

Like the equally ultramodern Mercedes Formula Zero, the Mazda KAAN concept was imaged for this year's Design Challenge and displayed at the LA Auto Show -- all with an eye on motor sports racing in the year 2025. It is then, the design team envisions, that the "California freeways have been resurfaced with a sub-level electro-conductive polymer that powers the electric cars of the modern world." Mazda design gurus also say that the all-electric KAAN was inspired by a lightning bolt and, as such, will be able to reach 250 mph emissions-free.
