Honda has unveiled a new fuel cell-powered design concept that offers the company's take on what a fuel cell sports car could look like in the future, AutoWeek reports. The car, dubbed the Honda FC Sport, offers seating for three in the same vein as the McLaren F1—the driver sits in the middle, while the two passengers sit to either side and slightly behind the driver.
The report said that the car's fuel cell stack sits in the front, while the batteries, electric motor, and hydrogen cell tanks sit in the back. "The only CO2 created by this machine would come from the smoking tires," said Honda chief John Mendel in the article. This is the kind of thing I'm hoping to see more of; now that alternative fuel cars are beginning to enter the mainstream, it's great to see automakers turning their eye back toward enthusiasts; the car enthusiast and the environmentalist aren't mutually exclusive.
