Today was a horrible day for GM and its employees; the company announced that it lost another $4.2 billion, could run out of cash by the end of the year, and needed to make billions more in additional cuts. As Inside Line reports, those cuts won't include the new Chevy Volt or the Chevy Cruze, despite rumors to the contrary.
In 2010, GM said in the report that it will introduce not only the Cruze and Volt, but also the Cadillac CTS Coupe, the Saab 9-4X, and the Saab 9-5 sedan and wagon. "That is, if GM survives what it expects to be a dismal 2009. The automaker reported a $4.2-billion loss in the third quarter and said it had burned through $6.9 billion in cash in the third quarter." It's amazing to even say this, but whether or not GM will make it to the 2010 model year remains a question.
