Bolwell, the Australian specialty automaker, has unveiled the Nagari, a mid-engined, lightweight sports car powered by a 295 hp, 3.5 liter V6 sourced from Toyota, according to World Car Fans. The $132,000 model weighs just 2,020 pounds, which makes for a rather potent power-to-weight ratio.
The Nagari features a 6-speed, paddle-shifted transmission and a body and chassis fashioned from high-impact composites and carbon-fiber, the report said, which the company claims were developed in the aerospace sciences to reduce weight on air and space craft. Plans are to release an all-electric version somewhere down the line, but for now, I'd be happy with the 0-60 time of four seconds flat that the Nagari supposedly runs.
Bolwell has already begun taking orders, with the first ones scheduled to reach Australian customers "by Christmas."
