SIRIUS XM Radio today announced an agreement to extend the company's existing relationship with BMW through September 2011. Currently, SIRIUS satellite radio is available as an option on all BMW vehicles, with a one-year bundled subscription included in the sticker price of the car—but it's still no bargain.
BMW is notorious for gouging customers with its option pricing, and here it's no different: $595 for the initial satellite radio option, plus $143 per year after the first, buys you the basic set up. Another $400 goes for an iPod adapter, while $350 buys HD radio access. As our own Bill Howard said, that's why BMW calls it a "premium mobility experience."
