Bailey, the niche automaker that has been working on its Blade supercar the past several years, has announced two additional powertrain options, according to AutoblogGreen, in an effort to say relevant in an economic downturn amid a lack of funding and increased consumer interest in alternative fuel vehicles.
The first version of the car, the XTR, will remain with a 750 hp, 5.4-liter V8 engine. A second version, dubbed the EVR, employs an electric drivetrain with twin electric motors, four-wheel drive and lithium phosphate batteries. Finally, the third model, which has no name yet, will sport a 600 hp Roush supercharged V8 engine with an on-demand hydrogen system that the company claims will improve fuel economy by 20 percent. That one sounds a bit sketchy to me. At any rate, here's hoping they can stay afloat.
