Looking to pick up a cheap HDTV on Friday? New digital camera? Laptop?
How about an iPod or new Macbook? Apple posted a note on its Web site Tuesday promising a "special one-day Apple shopping event" on Black Friday.
Apple offered few details about what type of discounts consumers will encounter, saying only that there will be "dozens of great iPod, iPhone, and Mac gift ideas."
In the meantime, check out the Top 10 Black Friday Sites on pcmag.com.

I'm interested to see what they do - Apple isn't known for cutting prices for one-day sales, or giving its customers particularly deep discounts on its products; usually they do things like free shipping or engraving to try and bring people into the fold - temporary price drops aren't really them.
Even so, it'll be something to see what they do! Maybe they'll offer a discount to kickstart some holiday shopping - there might be Macbooks under the tree at someone's house!

I find it hard to believe that Apple would lower their prices for one day, so they'll probably throw in a case or a $10 iTunes gift card when buying an iPod.
You'll probably get better deals on iPods at other retailers. Toys R Us is giving away a $50 gift card with the purchase of a 16GB iPod Nano: http://www.2008blackfridayads.com/toysrus
