Through good times and bad, Neiman Marcus celebrates good times. A case in point is the 2009 BMW Individual 750Li, the featured car of this year's Christmas Book. BMW and Neiman Marcus teamed up to offer a customized 7 Series for $160,000. That's roughly twice the expected base price (not yet announced) of the dazzling new BMW 7 Series. It's likely to be one of the world's most technogically advanced cars when it ships in the spring. So advanced, in fact, that iDrive is actually usable. BMW Individual is a factory-customization program for customers who want more exquisite leathers and deeper, richer paints that on your run-of-the-mill luxury ride. In this case, the Neiman Marcus 7 Series buyer gets:
Iridescent Diopside Black metallic paint, BMW Individual Champagne Merino leather, contrasting piping and trim, Alcantara headliner, piano black trim interior elements, a BMW Individual steering wheel with more piano black and a wood ring insert, and illuminated Neiman Marcus sillplates. Your $160,000 also gets you a pair of business-class tickets on Lufthansa from New York to Munich, pickup at the BMW Welt customer experience center in Munich, four nights of meals and accommodations, and a guided tour along the French Riviera. Perhaps in a concession to the soft economy, BMW and Neiman Marcus are limiting the availability to just 31 cars, instead of the 50 more common to the Neiman Marcus special holiday car. BMW says it's in honor of this being the 31st year the 7 Series has been in the U.S.
"Diopside" (the paint) is calcium magnesium silicate, in case you wondered, and it means you get black metallic paint with a hint of color. Remember: Only at Technoride.com do you learn one useless fact a day.
