touch-pro-small.jpg The 2008 smart phone crowd just became more complete as Sprint announced their HTC Touch Pro is going on sale next week. It will be available the week of Oct. 26 at "select national retailers," and the week of Nov. 2 at Sprint stores. The phone will cost $299.99 with a two-year contract and $100 mail-in rebate.

The Touch Pro will be the most advanced Windows Mobile phone available from any US carrier, with a 528 Mhz processor, EVDO Rev A and Wi-Fi networking, and both a touch screen and a slide-out keyboard. It sets up an interesting battle of the flagship products between the four major US carriers. AT&T has Apple's iPhone; Verizon has the Blackberry Storm; Sprint will have the Windows Mobile HTC Touch Pro; and T-Mobile has the Google Android G1.

We've got a preview of the Touch Pro online right now, along with a news story about its announcement back in September. We'll have a review within the next few weeks.

Verizon and AT&T are both releasing HTC Touch Pro very soon.
