Aquos_DX.jpgThe new Aquos DX series by Sharp was just announced in Japan as the first full HD LCD TVs with built-in Blu-ray disk recorder. There are 16 models in the DX-series that include models ranging from 26 to 52 inches. Since Blu-ray is integrated onto the devices, watching TV or DVD and recording HD videos could be controlled by one remote control. In case problems arise with the Blu-ray though, it can be removed for repair.

The Aquos DX's Blu-ray can record videos using H.264/AVC standard which when 5X extended HD video recording is utilized, can record almost 22 hours of video on a 50GB storage capacity. The LCD TVs utilize Kameyama LCD panels with Sharp's 1-Bit digital amp. The Sharp Aquos DX LCD TV series models will be available in Japan by late November for prices ranging from $1,680 to $4,950.
