The company may not have picked the ideal day to announce it, but Samsung has some big laptop news of its own--and let's face it, since the company has never officially produced them for the US market, any Samsung laptop news is big news. The company today announced the release of a slew of new notebooks, including a media center, two ultraportables, and a netbook.
Samsung's new netbook, the NC10, is designed to compete alongside such models as the MSI Wind and Lenovo IdeaPad S10. It features an uncharacteristically large 160GB hard drive, a 10-inch screen, a 6-cell battery, and an Intel Atom processor.
The two ultraportables, the X360 and the X460, both feature LED-backlit displays and brushed aluminum lids. The X360 weighs less than 3 pounds and features a 13-inch display. And the 14-inch X460 weighs 4.2 pounds.
The R610 is the biggest of the bunch, with a 16-inch widescreen with a 1080p (1,920-by-1,080) resolution. It starts at $1,049.
