Rumors were flying earlier in the week about the unceremonious death of Apple's tiny desktop PC, the Mac Mini. Of course this isn't the first time that such rumors have blown through the blogosphere.
Despite an early surge in popularity, the Mini never really gained the sort of traction that Apple had hoped for. As a result, Apple hasn't really done much in the way of refreshing the units; it's been releasing incremental updates from year to year, at best. According to AppleInsider, however, the company isn't giving up on its plucky little PC--in fact, Apple is apparently planning the first major revamp to the computer since it was introduced, three years ago.
According to a source close to the company, Apple is looking into a number of updates to the Mac Mini, including a new Mini DisplayPort, addition housing for RAM, and a SATA connection.

Good news! I've always been on the fence about buying one, but hearing they might be gone forever prompted me to think about picking one up. Maybe now I can hold out until we see some serious upgrades!
