Nissan has commenced a recall of more than 200,000 late models in an effort to repair a glitch in airbag sensor systems. Owners of the 2007-2008 Nissan Altima will be affected the most as the automaker sets out to replace airbag sensors on some 140,000 units.
The recall will also extend to the Nissan 350Z, Murano and Rogue, as well as the automaker's premium Infiniti lineup, including the EX35, G35 Sedan, and G37 models. So far no injuries or crashes have been reported. According to The Detroit News, "an issue with an electronic component could interrupt a signal in the sensor system. That could prevent the passenger air bag from deploying under certain conditions."
