OMG!!! NEXT SUMMER!?!? that seriously sucks. i know nintendo is japanese, but could they plz share the love sooner? it's pretty rude how there's thousands of games that never see an american release. that's bad, because think about it, it'd mean a lot more money to just share more games.

You can buy them on import at popular import game sites, (Price I seen was $299 US) but from my understanding, the unit's ship language specific, NOT multi-language like the current DS Lite. So unless you can read Japanese or just don't mind if it's in another language, your good to go. Unsure if it has region coding either... I'm guessing your current games will work (except GBA, as it doesn't have a GBA Slot on the DSLi) but with the lack of multi-language support on the console, I'm guessing that a move to region coding wouldn't be far fetched for the future... but I'm just guessing on that note.

I read that one of the reasons that Nintendo is not selling the DSi in the US is because the DS Lites are selling great right now. They're going to wait until they have as much profit as they can get from the Lites until they release the DSi.

So stop buying DS Lites. =)

Hey!!! Nintendo said that they wont release the Ds-i until the Ds lite sales go down, which sucks because almost every parent is buying the Ds for their kid

Another huge reason for releasing it this summer is for the big E3 convention that pretty much all major gaming nerds follow.
They probably need it to be released then to help them compete with Sony and microsofts presentations.
Also Reggie Fils-Aime is retarded on my standards.

you guys are all wrong the nintendo dsi comes out in the spring of 2009. I read some where that it will cost about 180$ in the US. Personally I think that anybody thats thinking about buying a psp... Stupid nintendo us guy. is he stupid? it's known for sure that as soon as the dsi gets realesed, he'll be rolling in money. the ds won't be known anymore, and will CRUSH sales of psp and ds/ds lite. they should also make a bundle pack of pokemon platinum and the dsi. that would double the sales. but still keep a ds, or you won't be able to use the guitar hero thing or any other gba related thing/ game!!!!!!

Man I cant wait for a DSi. My DSL has a loose screen which I have to fix it so that sucks. I heard that a DSi will cost $189.99. Some of my friends say that DSi sucks but I disagree. I have a question. Is hacking a game illgal?

Ok so, here's a better idea for everyone, EVERYONE who wants a DSi. If there isn't a new game format, which I believe shouldn't matter, Go out and get yourself a DS lite. Now here's the catch, GET a R4 for your DS and you can already take advantage of the music for your DS, and on top of that, you can play video as well. The only thing it doesnt have is a camera, But you have your cellphone for 1.3 mp of crap anyway right?
