Azentek_SmartMirror.jpg

The latest in a storied (?) product category of computerized rear view mirrors, Azentek is ramping up production of its SmartMirror rear view mirror replacement, Engadget reports, after a brief period of shipping them back in August. The company claims that they'll also be available at major retailers by the end of the year.

The Azentek SmartMirror has an MSRP of $800. For that hefty fee, you get a 4-inch GPS navigation unit sandwiched next to a standard-sized rearview mirror. It also includes a Bluetooth radio for hands-free calling with a built-in speaker, text-to-speech functionality for pronouncing street names as it gives voice-enabled, turn-by-turn directions, and an SD card slot. The company also throws in a 2GB SD card.
