A one-off, all-electric 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 is now up for sale on eBay and is currently listed at $15,600, AutoblogGreen reports, adding that it would "be a bargain if it could jump through time and wasn't under the reserve price." The homebrew conversion uses a WarP 9 electric motor and thirteen 12-volt 100 amp-hour deep cycle Deka 9A31 Intimidator AGM batteries. I have no idea what those are either.
The seller said in the ad that the batteries and electric motor can power the car with a 40-mile range—hey, just like the Chevy Volt!—and can recharge in eight hours from a standard wall outlet, or in two to three hours from a 220-volt plug. Unfortunately, the heater and A/C have been disconnected. The seller said that if the Buy It Now option is used, he'll throw in a custom Flux Capacitor.
