So it's official: Verizon Wireless will be the exclusive carrier of the first touch-screen Blackberry, the Blackberry Storm. Right now, though, the state of Storm on Verizon's Web site is rather shaky; if you search for "storm" on verizonwireless.com, you get the attractive banner shown above, but the banner links to http://estore.vzwshop.com/storm/ which at the moment is a dead link. Maybe it will all come together in the morning.

We've heard a lot of rumors and seen a lot of leaks about the Storm, and you can follow those on more rumor-friendly sites. I'm very much looking forward to testing out the Storm's haptic touch screen, which should hopefully give you the feeling that you're pressing physical keys when you're just tapping a touch screen. Keyboards are very important to Blackberry users, so that's got to be one that the engineers at RIM are just agonizing over.

There are no reliable dates or prices for the Storm yet.

I think it should be mentioned that Palm told me, when my Palm needed repairs, that they will not ship to Hawaii or Alaska. I feel this is poor business, and people should be warned before they buy any Palm device.

I really want to buy this phone, but despise Verizon Wireless.

@ET: that's Palm, not RIM ;)

Wanted to switch to Verizon; however, their evening minutes don't start till 9 p.m.--little late to be calling relatives on the East Coast. Too bad such a minor issue rules Verizon out for me. Are you reading Verizon?????

I have gone back to true and tried Day Timer, Fountain Pen data entry and the pocket size little book.

No more taps that do not work, or having to redegitize a hundred time or reset and loose all data.

I am leaving the electronic age and going back to the way things were in the 1940's and early 1950's. Today's times stink, it is an era of self centerness, greed and imorality, non caring.

"it is an era of self centerness, greed...."etc

Without items such as PC's, laptops, cellphones, smartphones etc you are going to fail as a businessman, parent, employee, or anything else with responsability or priority in this day and age.

Conforming to a digital era is more efficient and practical than "paper and pen" functionality. Technology has nothing to do with "times" of "self centerness, greed, and imorality".

It is not the product that defines the user rather the use of the product by the user (unless you have no purpose).

By saying this Titus you are simply displaying yourself as a person with hate, no self control and a person with an opaque personality who sees conformity as an only option.

Me purchasing an iPhone, XPS laptop, HDTV etc. does not reflect my purpose or priority in this universe. Instead of buying clothing are you going to make your own? I highly doubt that.

Come on Titus.....get your head on straight.
