TRIAC designer Ehab Youssef said that deliveries of the 80 mph, 100-mile-range electric vehicle will finally begin in December, AutoblogGreen reports. Youssef also said in the report that the car's $22,995 sticker price means it's the cheapest, highway-capable vehicle available for purchase (in a not-so-subtle dig at ZAP).
One of the TRIAC's best attributes is its charging time; a full charge takes only two hours, according to its online brochure. The Triac employs a 20 kW AC motor in conjunction 160 amp hour lithium battery pack that's good for 2,000 charges; the vehicle also includes a full regenerative braking system to maximize range.
