LG CNS and Intel recently launched a domestic healthcare system called the Touch Doctor in Korea. To work, the system features accessories for people to be able to measure several health parameters at home. These parameters include blood pressure, heart rate, fat mass, and blood sugar. The gathered data would then be uploaded onto the Touch Doctor computer system that analyzes data in real time.
Results from the home-administered tests are then forwarded via the internet to a registered nurse in a health care center. The one in charge of seeing to the data sent via the Touch Doctor would talk to patients online to give them advice about their health conditions. Touch Doctor will be undergoing a trial service in December with the hopes of a full commercial release soon.
