Despite the recent death of its CEO, Pininfarina, the famed Italian coach builder, is proceeding with plans for an electric car it will unveil at the Paris Motor Show, according to Autopia. The company is developing the car with French battery manufacturer Bollore and said it will be available by the end of 2010 in Europe, Japan and America.
The report said that Pininfarina will use a lithium-metal-polymer battery developed by Bollore; that differs from li-ion in that "each cell is encased in steel and electronically monitored to keep tabs on operating efficiency, voltage and temperature."
Meanwhile, Pininfarina has yet to release an image of the four-seater car. But they've turned out some pretty impressive concepts lately, including the gorgeous Sintesi (pictured). The company plans to unveil a concept for this car next month as noted but will have a production model ready for Geneva in March.
