Okay, it's not quite Rosie from The Jetsons, but this robot will greet you at the door and will usher guests into the room. The GuiaBot functions autonomously , creating a working map of the spaces around it.

It's polite too--get in GuiaBot's way and it will stop, excuse its, and travel around you. Laser rangefinders help it spot things like tables and objects on the floor. The 'bot's prototype features a Webcam to help it's operator learn more about the world.
