It's been a long time coming, but GM finally plans to show off the production version of its highly anticipated Chevy Volt electric vehicle, AutoWeek reports. GM formally celebrates its 100th anniversary on September 16th; the display will coincide with that. To date, the automaker has shown only concept versions of the Volt.
"The rumors that a production version of the Volt will show up at the celebrations are true," a GM source told Automotive News Europe. "The car will be a true representation of what the production version looks like and be somewhat different from the concept versions." GM will show the car to employees and the media at its headquarters in Detroit. We'll be all over it as soon as they tear the cover off.
