The veil of secrecy surrounding the plug-in Chevy Volt, or at least what was left of it since the photos first leaked, finally came off today as GM boldly presented what it calls the "game changer" of the automotive industry. Greeted by a barrage of reporters, the production version of the electric sedan was wheeled out to mark the automaker's centennial and lay out a blueprint for the company's future.

GM CEO Rick Wagoner took the stage to announce the company plans to find new alternative fuels that will help decrease dependency on oil and offered an animated tour depicting the automaker's global operations. As for the Chevy Volt itself, the company also made public the long-awaited interior shots and even released a quick video teaser.
