xperia-glog.jpg Sony Ericsson confirmed today that their highly-anticipated Xperia X1 Windows Mobile phone will become available in a few countries, including the UK, on September 30.

According to a Sony Ericsson rep at the CTIA Wireless trade show today, the X1 will not have separate European and US hardware versions, so the UK model will work well in the US. Therefore, we expect that specialty importers like Dynamism.com will start selling the Xperia X1 to US customers on, well, September 30.

Folks looking for a more formal US release (possibly even subsidized by a carrier) should wait for an announcement on November 3, Sony Ericsson said at an event this morning. No, the phone isn't coming out on Nov. 3, we'll find out when on Nov. 3.

Sony Ericsson will run a full, live demonstration of the X1 during a public Webcast on Monday, September 15 at 7 AM ET, at www.sonyericsson.com/premiere
