Motorola_ROKR_ME28.jpg Motorola has released info on three new phones targeting music fans. The lineup includes MOTOROKR EM30, a candybar phone using Motorola's ModeShift technology; the ROKR EM28 (pictured above), a clamshell with sonic features and touch-sensitive keys; and the ROKR EM25, a slider with FM radio sharing capabilities.

The ROKR EM30's keypad uses Motorola's ModeShift technology to switch from red in music mode to blue in phone mode, allowing users to move from talk to text to music with the touch of a button. Besides talking and texting, the ROKR EM30 features high-fidelity audio, MP3 playback, and Radio Data System technology, which displays the song and artist playing on the radio. Complete with a 3.5mm stereo headset jack, it is compatible with Windows Media Player 11 and can download music from more than 200 online music stores worldwide.

The ROKR EM28 has a clamshell design and utilizes touch-sensitive keys that appear only when needed. The front of the phone shows the name of the artist and song without opening the phone. A 3-D sound effect gives music surround-sound quality, and an audio equalizer provides 11 pre-set music genres, including rock, reggae and pop. Consumers also can boost the bass up to nine decibels. No word on how much music it can hold.

The ROKR EM25 has immediate access to a stored music library and built-in FM radio, in a sleek handset. The phone has a dedicated music key, so users can access and control stored music easily. FMShare will allow users to share their favorite stations by sending them in a text message, use SONGID technology to identify a song, then download and listen to it on the phone.

All three handsets support GSM/EDGE technology, multiple digital music formats for easy music syncing, and stereo Bluetooth wireless technology, which lets users use wireless speakers and headsets and new ROKR portable speakers. All the phones have USB 2.0 connections.

The ROKR EM30 won't be coming to America, but the EM28 and EM25 will be Stateside later this quarter.

EM30 not coming to America? I finally read about everything I want, and then I am told I can't have it.

Can I have a friend send me one from Canada and expect it to work in CA?

Thanks
