Think Global, a Norwegian electric carmaker once owned by Ford, announced it has hired Ford executive Richard Canny as its new president and chief operating officer, Fortune reports. The company is busy ramping op production of the City, the company's electric, Internet-enabled car. Currently, the cars are running around Norway doing high mileage endurance tests.
"The factory completed its planned build of 100 cars for the local market prior to the Norwegian summer shutdown," said Think CEO Jan-Olaf Willums, a longtime entrepreneur and sustainability expert who made his fortune as a co-founder of Norwegian solar company REC Solar, according to the article. "Of course, like any new vehicle launch we are having occasional new issues arise and teething problems to overcome."
Richard Canny used to be the president of Ford South America, the president of Ford Argentina, and a managing director of Ford Malaysia, so he'll be taking the helm of the Think Global with considerable experience under his belt.
